Downtime in Iraq

Jonathan is second from the left. They went to the Swords because one of the guys was reenlisting. They loaded into the "uparmoured SUV's and enjoyed a little outing in 120 degrees. It’s always nice to get out and about.” His recent life schedule is work from 8am till about 11pm and get some sleep when he can ... so any break is a good break.

Ps 20:4-5, May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the Lord grant all your requests. NIV

Summer Doves

Flowers appear on the earth;
the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves is heard in our land.
Song of Songs, 2:12 NIV

We have a pair of doves in the neighborhood but have had a hard time getting a picture of both. Toni and I watched them cooing among the flowers along the fence, but they get bashful as soon as the door opens so that I can get a picture.

Daniel is 4

Daniel turned 4 today and got a new trampoline to share with his brothers for their summer birthdays.

Skye Walk

Monday Dayton had his first day of summer school, Danny went to the Ranch with his Mom, Sister and Nana ...

and Skye went on a walk with his Papa…

from his home, across the interstate, down the greenway, stopping at MacDonald’s, and then up the hill to Papa's.

Is that a smile?

Flash from the Past

My niece Sara sent this picture today from a visit she made several years back.

What a hoot to see what a few years make.

A great trip down memory lane, even if it was a short one!

Danny will be four tomorrow and Skye is six until August.

Hot Dog Bar

Saturday we had five couples and their kids over for a Hot Dog Bar. Toni prepared signs and had ingredients for Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Kansas City and Detroit style hot dogs; we grilled some and steamed others.

Dayton's Trip to Ranch

We took Dayton with us to see Grandma Shaul. Dayton and I walked 3 miles of Pumpkin Creek Road and then walked the ranch taking some pictures for his dad.
