Some Current Details

Some details for the detail lovers. Toni started the “herceptin only” treatments today; there were some elevated blood pressure issues after the infusion so she had to wait for while until released by her doctor. Today Toni starts a five year course of a daily drug called “Femara” and on Tuesday she will have a “Muga” heart function test and later in the day a bone density test.

Chemo Done! Herceptin Continues!

Toni has completed her 8 chemo treatments!

Yeah! Hurrah! Praise the Lord!!!

These last two have greatly reduced her energy, so we are extremely glad to be over this hurdle and really ready to move on to the herceptin infusions that reportedly have few side effects. Toni will have herception infusions every three weeks until next February. Her next one is this Friday.

We came home early from Breckenridge because some dental work, that had to be postposned during chemo, began to abscess. Our dentist and good friend got her in imediately and a pulled tooth has never felt so good to Toni!

I lift up my eyes to the hills — where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. (Ps 121:1-3, NIV)

Another Tornado

Recently, tornadoes seem to be finding the Crocker family. Last night, it was my turn. Tornado sirens greeted me on the way home from class last night. I then had the "wonderful" Kansas experience of hanging out in a hallway bathroom as an E4 tornado (the second strongest) ripped through Manhattan. I find the destruction of tornadoes surreal. My neighborhood went completely unscathed, but other parts of Manhattan were not so lucky. I need to drive only a few minutes out of my neighborhood to see complete destruction.

Two neighborhoods were hard hit--30 houses were completely destroyed. K-State sustained serious damage estimated at 20 million dollars. One of our Hardware stores was completely flattened. Here are pictures of the aftermath in Manhattan and on the K-State campus.

This is actual video of the tornado. I believe it is taken from a web cam on top of a building at K-State that sustained serious damage.

More Mid-Western Tornadoes

As I am sure you all know by now, tornadoes have once again ripped through Midwest. And I think the Crocker parents are a bit tired of their children being in the path of of those tornadoes.

Mondays with Mom

We took our normal Monday trip to Nebraska to spend a wonderful time with mom. First some lunch at Runza, then a drive by Dad’s gravesite, a stop at the top of Scotts Bluff National Monument, shopping at Herbergers, another Runza stop for smoothies and finally back to the ranch. I took a few pictures of the ranch, since some were asking about how it looks this spring with so much “green”. They are at http://www.crockerpages.com/.
